Fans react as Taylor Swift drops new single, Look What You Made Me Do

Taylor Swift has released the first single off her new album Reputation.

The singer also tweeted a link to the video for Look What You Made Me Do.

It comes after a week long social media blackout where she removed all her previous activity.

#TaylorSwiftIsBack has been trending all morning since the release.

In the new single she declares the old Taylor is “dead”.

Using a phone effect on the track, she says: “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now.

“Why? ‘Cause she’s dead.”

Within an hour of its release the video had already racked up almost 500,000 views on Vevo.

And clearly she has no problem with Spotify anymore because it went straight on the streaming service.

The single also has an unlikely credit on there, because it contains a melody used on Right Said Fred’s I’m Too Sexy.

The 90s trio thanked Swifty on Twitter on Friday morning.

Reputation is Taylor’s sixth studio album.

It’s exactly three years since her fifth studio album 1989. And fans are loving this single.

But Look What You Made Me Do is obviously having a pop at someone but who?

Is it Katy or Kanye?

“I don’t like your little games/I don’t like your tilted stage,” Taylor sings.

“The role you made me play: of the fool/No, I don’t like you.”

Kanye famously used a tilted stage on his recent Saint Pablo tour.

And let’s go back to the phone effect. Remember that phone conversation where Taylor apparently approved a lyric Kanye put on his track Famous?

Yeah, well maybe this was Taylor getting her own back at Kanye – and Kim – for filming it.

It’s believed that Bad Blood was written about Katy Perry, although Taylor Swift has never confirmed it.

So has this feud continued? Is Look What You Made Me Do aimed at Katy?

Katy’s latest single Swish Swish, in which she teamed up with Nicki Minaj, is rumoured to be about Taylor Swift.

Katy Perry is due to perform at the VMAs this weekend, but the question is – will Taylor be there too?
